We Were Always Hungry” — Jarvis Opens Up On Painful Childhood And Rise To Fame
Content creator Jarvis has opened up about her difficult childhood, revealing how growing up without knowing her father and having a mother living with bipolar disorder shaped her early years.
According to Ireporter Online, Jarvis shared her emotional story during a recent interactive session at Pastor Tobi Adegboyega’s church in the United Kingdom, where she spoke about the struggles that defined her upbringing.
She disclosed that she was largely raised by her grandparents, whom she described as strict but influential in providing the discipline and structure that helped her navigate difficult circumstances.
Jarvis said her family later faced serious financial challenges, including difficulties paying school fees and providing basic necessities. She revealed that hunger became a frequent experience for her and her sister during those difficult periods.
“We were always hungry,” she recalled, explaining that they sometimes watched videos of food on TikTok in an attempt to satisfy their cravings before eventually praying for better days.
According to her, her journey into TikTok livestreaming began after a friend introduced her to the platform. She said her first livestream, which she hosted with her sister, attracted about 200 viewers and earned them $5.
The experience encouraged the sisters to continue creating content as they hoped to raise money for their education and meet some of their basic needs, despite disapproval from members of their family over their involvement in social media.
Jarvis also recounted how she eventually met her husband, Peller, through a livestreaming session.
She revealed that Peller initially showed interest in her sister, although she later realised that he also liked her. At the time, however, Jarvis said she was more interested in maintaining a friendship and collaborating on content than pursuing a romantic relationship.
According to Jarvis, she initially believed Peller was better suited to her sister and never imagined that their friendship and content-creating relationship would eventually develop into a romantic union.
Her revelation has offered fans a deeper insight into the difficult experiences she overcame before finding success as a content creator and building the relationship that eventually led her to Peller.
