Commercial Banks Dispense New Naira Notes (VIDEO)
Commercial banks in Nigeria’s major cities have begun issuing newly redesigned naira notes to over-the-counter customers.
On October 26, 2022, the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, stated that the apex bank will issue redesigned N200, N500, and N1,000 notes beginning December 15, 2022, with the new and existing currencies remaining legal tender and circulating together until January 31, 2023.
On Wednesday, November 23, 2022, President Muhammadu Buhari unveiled the newly designed notes.
