NABTEB Releases 2026 Results — Check Your Result Now

The National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) has released the results of the 2026 June/July National Business Certificate (NBC) and National Technical Certificate (NTC) examinations, recording a significant improvement in candidates’ performance.

The board disclosed that 79,503 candidates, representing 81.24 per cent of the 97,863 candidates graded, obtained at least five credits, including English Language and Mathematics.

NABTEB Registrar and Chief Executive Officer, Dr Aminu Mohammed, announced the results on Wednesday, September 2, during a news conference in Benin, Edo State.

The 2026 performance represents a notable increase from the 68.18 per cent recorded in the 2025 examination, when 61,104 candidates obtained five credits and above, including English Language and Mathematics.

Mohammed attributed the improvement to the collective efforts of candidates, teachers, schools, parents and other stakeholders across the education sector.

He described the development as encouraging, noting that the improved results reflected the combined efforts of those involved in the examination process.

The registrar further disclosed that 89,580 candidates, representing 91.53 per cent of those graded, obtained at least five credits irrespective of whether English Language and Mathematics were included.

According to him, the figure also surpassed the 83.28 per cent recorded in the previous year.

Mohammed added that 24,128 candidates, representing 24.65 per cent of those graded, were certified as craftsmen.

Providing further details, the NABTEB chief executive said 100,069 candidates registered for the 2026 examinations, while 97,867 eventually sat for the exercise, representing an attendance rate of 97.80 per cent.

He also disclosed that the results were released 52 days after the final examination, describing the turnaround time as part of the board’s efforts to improve service delivery and ensure candidates receive their results promptly.

On examination malpractice, Mohammed revealed that 847 candidates were implicated in 1,554 reported cases during the examination.

He said the figure represented 1.55 per cent of candidates who sat for the examination and was lower than the number recorded in 2025.

According to the registrar, the decline indicates that measures introduced by the board to curb examination malpractice are producing positive results.

Mohammed urged candidates to access their results only through NABTEB’s official result-checking platform.

He also warned candidates and members of the public to be wary of fraudsters claiming they can manipulate or upgrade examination results.

The NABTEB boss stressed that no individual has the authority to alter a candidate’s legitimately awarded result, urging the public to disregard anyone making such claims.
