The governor, visibly pleased with the voter turnout, remarked on the significant progress made in restoring peace to the region after years of Boko Haram insurgency. He emphasized the freedom with which voters participated, underscoring the return of normalcy and the success of resettlement efforts in the once-displaced communities.

Governor Buni urged electorates to maintain peaceful conduct throughout the election process, stating, “That is a very good development, especially as this place is one of the displaced communities that we resettled and provided with all the basic necessities. You can see peace and tranquility that they are enjoying, they are going about their normal businesses and that is my joy.”

As part of the wider electoral activities, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is conducting bye and re-run elections in 80 Local Government Areas across 26 states in the federation. These elections aim to fill vacancies in senatorial districts, federal and state constituencies, involving millions of registered voters.
