Speaking at a one-day validation conference on the draft handbook of The Progressive Institute in Abuja, Ganduje emphasized the party’s commitment to establishing a world-class intellectual resource center. This initiative aims not only to enhance the intellectual foundation of the party but also to strengthen decision-making processes through research-driven, empirical, and accountable approaches.

Ganduje, who highlighted the significance of the conference, stated that the validation was a crucial step towards establishing The Progressive Institute, designed to function as a Think Tank and Intellectual Resource Centre for the APC.

“The Progressive Institute will play a dual role for the APC. It will function as a Think Tank as well as an intellectual Resource Centre,” he said. “It is important to emphasize the determination of our party to raise the quality of political discourse in the country through very well-defined ideological prisms.”

The Institute will undertake research on policies and programs of governments under the APC platform, focusing on promoting democracy, good governance, inclusiveness, and equity. Additionally, it will contribute to capacity-building activities for party members, emphasizing the party’s commitment to progressive ideals and ideological training.

The validation conference, jointly organized by the APC and the Institute for Governance and Leadership Studies in Africa (IGLSA), marks a significant step towards establishing a robust intellectual foundation for the party. Ganduje expressed gratitude to the resource persons and contributors, highlighting the party’s determination to enrich political discourse in Nigeria through advanced technological approaches and research-driven strategies.
