Speaking with journalists in Osogbo on Sunday, Oyintiloye argued that it was inappropriate to shift focus to the next presidential race when President Bola Tinubu has spent barely two years in office grappling with critical national issues.

“Some are already lobbying to be Vice President while the President is busy stabilising the economy, fighting insurgency, and reviving vital infrastructure. Their distractions are undermining the progress we’ve made,” he said.

The APC stalwart warned that such early politicking could derail Tinubu’s agenda and slow down the pace of reforms already taking shape.

“It is becoming nauseating. The 2027 elections are still more than a year and a half away, yet political opportunists are bent on causing unnecessary distractions. They must stop and allow the President to work,” he stressed.

Oyintiloye urged politicians across the country to put aside personal ambitions for now and instead rally behind the President by offering support, prayers, and solidarity to ensure the administration successfully delivers on its promises.
