Nation In Darkness Nigeria’s Power Supply Collapses For The Third Time In A Week

Nigeria’s national grid has collapsed once again, marking the third incident in just one week. The latest collapse occurred early Saturday morning, plunging many states into total blackout.….CONTINUE READING 

 

According to data from the Nigerian System Operator (niggrid.org), the grid recorded zero megawatts (MW) as of 9:20 AM, worsening the ongoing power crisis.

These frequent grid failures have further weakened an already fragile electricity supply, leaving businesses and households struggling with the effects of unreliable power. The recent collapses have raised concerns about the country’s power infrastructure, compounded by the high costs and scarcity of fuel, which limit access to alternative power sources.

In response to the situation, Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has emphasized the need for a more resilient power infrastructure. He suggested that establishing regional or state-level power grids could prevent the repeated collapses that have plagued the national grid.
