APC Not Losing Sleep Over Opposition Unity – Kalu Sparks Political Firestorm”

Senator Orji Uzor Kalu of Abia North has affirmed that the All Progressives Congress (APC) remains deeply committed to Nigeria, asserting that the party enjoys widespread support from citizens across the country.

Kalu expressed strong confidence that the APC would secure victory in the 2027 general elections, regardless of any efforts by opposition parties to unseat it. He emphasized that many APC members are actively investing in the nation’s economy to support job creation and complement government initiatives.

Speaking to Senate correspondents on Tuesday at the National Assembly in Abuja, the former Senate Chief Whip stressed that President Bola Tinubu enjoys growing support due to his performance in office—support that, in Kalu’s view, opposition coalitions cannot undermine.

“The APC is not afraid of any opposition coalition. We are the ruling party, and we love Nigeria. That’s why many of us are investing in industries nationwide to support job creation beyond government efforts,” he stated.

Kalu, who currently chairs the Senate Committee on the South-East Development Commission, added that political criticism from the opposition is expected in a democracy but should not be mistaken for weakness.

“The opposition will naturally criticize—that’s their role. But our responsibility is to deliver results, and we are doing just that. In time, Nigerians will come to appreciate the efforts of Mr. President,” he said.

The former Abia State Governor also noted that the South-East region was among the first to endorse Tinubu for a second term. While acknowledging the economic hardships caused by recent policy reforms, Kalu maintained that these changes are essential for Nigeria’s long-term stability and prosperity.
