According to Ireporter Online, the galala music pioneer shared the revelation while reflecting on his early struggles, career transition and the experiences that shaped his rise in the Nigerian music industry.

Daddy Showkey explained that after the music group Pretty Busy Boys broke up, members of the group decided to pursue individual careers, leaving him uncertain about his next move.

He said he returned to life in the garage while searching for a new direction, adding that joining the military was initially part of his plans before he eventually abandoned the idea because of the intensity of the training.

“After Pretty Busy Boys, everybody went solo. I was thinking, what will I do? I went back to the garage. First of all, I wanted to join the army, but the training was too much for me,” he said during an appearance on a television programme.

The singer revealed that his return to the garage in Lagos became a turning point in his life, as it was there that he discovered his potential as a musician.

According to him, the unexpected discovery eventually paved the way for his solo career and helped him become one of the leading figures behind the popular galala music movement.

Daddy Showkey also reflected on his success story, encouraging people not to give up on their dreams. He stated that success is not limited to a particular group of people and urged individuals to continue working hard toward achieving their goals.
