An Islamist-led rebel alliance launched an attack on government forces, supported by Iran and Russia, on the same day a fragile ceasefire took hold in neighboring Lebanon between Israel and Hezbollah. The Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) group and its allies now control most of Aleppo, except for areas held by Kurdish forces, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
