According to Ireporter Online, United States President Donald Trump has spoken on what he believes to be the reasons behind repeated assassination threats against him, following a recent security scare that disrupted a high-profile media event in Washington.

The incident occurred on April 25, 2026, during the White House Correspondents’ Dinner held at the Washington Hilton, where panic erupted after a gunman triggered a security response that brought the event to an abrupt halt. Security operatives swiftly intervened, restoring order as attendees were evacuated from the venue.

Reacting after the situation was contained, Trump suggested that individuals who drive significant change often become targets of hostility. He linked the attempt to his tenure in office, stating that his policies and decisions have significantly altered the country in ways that have not been welcomed by all.

He further drew comparisons with historical instances in which influential leaders faced violent attacks due to their impact on society, referencing his own experience of surviving an assassination attempt during a campaign rally in 2024.

Despite the threats, the President maintained that he continues to live a relatively normal life and refuses to be intimidated. He emphasized that while the position he holds carries inherent risks, he remains resolute and unshaken.

“I’ve studied assassinations. I must tell you the most impactful people, the people that do the most… they’re the ones that they go after,” Trump was quoted as saying. “I hate to say I’m honoured by that, but I’ve done a lot. We’ve changed this country, and there are a lot of people that are not happy about that. I lead a pretty normal life, considering it’s a dangerous life. To be honest, I’m not a basket case. A tremendous amount of love and coming together. I was ready to give the most inappropriate speech ever made.”
