Atiku stressed the importance of implementing robust mechanisms for public audit and accountability to prevent any mismanagement of these critical health funds.

Atiku also criticized the government’s lack of a clear framework detailing how the substantial sum will be expended, especially considering that a significant portion of the funds is sourced from foreign loans. He argued that Nigerians deserve comprehensive information on the utilization of these funds, highlighting that it would be “immoral” for the government not to provide extensive details on the disbursement plans. He urged the administration to be deliberate in establishing transparent processes to ensure that every kobo budgeted for the health sector is maximally utilized for the benefit of the populace.
