BBNaija S9: Chinwe Refutes Sponsorship Claims Amidst Zion Drama

Big Brother Naija Season 9, titled ‘No Loose Guard,’ contestant Chinwe has vehemently denied claims that she sponsored her boyfriend, Zion, to participate in the show.

The controversy began on Thursday when Chinwe and Zion had a public fallout. Chinwe accused Zion of failing to support her during a heated argument with fellow housemates, Onyeka and Chizoba. During a conversation with DJ Flo later that day, Chinwe hinted that she had played a significant role in their journey to the BBNaija house, even expressing regret about not attending the show with her best friend instead of Zion.

This statement sparked widespread speculation, leading to the assumption that Chinwe had financially backed Zion’s entry into the competition.

However, during the eviction show on Sunday night, host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu sought to clarify the matter. He directly asked Chinwe, “Why did you say you sponsored Zion to the house?”

Chinwe quickly refuted the sponsorship claims, explaining that her earlier statement was misunderstood. She clarified that her role was purely motivational, as Zion initially lacked enthusiasm about joining the show. According to her, she never implied any financial sponsorship, but rather that she was the driving force behind Zion’s participation.
