Breaking: 2024 NABTEB Results Released—Check Out The Shocking Performance Stats!

The National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) has officially released the results for the 2024 In-School National Business Certificate (NBC) and National Technical Certificate (NTC) examinations.

During a press briefing in Benin, Edo State, NABTEB’s acting Registrar, Dr. Nnasia Ndareke Asanga, provided an update on the June/July 2024 exams. He announced that 44,000 out of the 67,751 candidates who took the exams scored five credits or more, including Mathematics and English Language.

This figure represents 65.35% of the total candidates. Furthermore, 62,235 candidates (92.42%) achieved five credits or more, with or without Mathematics and English Language.

Dr. Asanga also highlighted that 67,751 candidates registered for the exams, which were conducted in 1,708 centers across Nigeria. He pointed out several challenges affecting technical education in the country, including how industries and communities perceive the TVET program, as well as a lack of funding and support.

He emphasized the importance of proper legislation, capacity building for technical teachers, adequate funding, and more technical colleges to improve TVET and other technical education programs.

“TVET has the potential to bridge the gap between education and unemployment, which is crucial in today’s innovation-driven economy,” Dr. Asanga said.

Comparing the results to last year, he noted a decline in performance, with 349 candidates involved in examination malpractice. He stressed that exam malpractice undermines trust in the education system and deprives students of essential skills like critical thinking and problem-solving.

“NABTEB remains committed to conducting examinations and skill-based assessments that lead to the award of Business, Vocational, and Technical Certificates at both Ordinary and Advanced levels,” he concluded.
