BREAKING: Days After Supreme Court Judgement Affirmed Tinubu’s Victory, Judge Confirmed Dead In Abuja (DETAILS)
Olisa Agbakoba, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), expressed his deep sorrow at the loss of Justice Edith Agbakoba, his sister-in-law (the wife of his elder brother, Gozie), who passed away on Monday in Abuja.

In an official statement released by his Media Assistant, Niyi Odunmorayo, Agbakoba extended his heartfelt prayers for the peaceful rest of Edith’s soul.

Furthermore, the distinguished legal expert shared the news of her passing on his official platform, stating, “It is with profound sadness that the Agbakoba Family of Umuasele Quarters, Onitsha, announces the passing of their beloved wife, mother, and sister, Justice Edith Agbakoba, in Abuja this morning on the 6th of November, 2023. We humbly request everyone to join us in praying for the repose of her soul.”
“We thank the President of the National Industrial Court where Justice Agbakoba served with distinction, for the support of the court. Gozie and Olisa Agbakoba.”
The departed Justice Agbakoba dedicated her service to the National Industrial Court until her passing.
In response, Hon. President Hon. Justice Benedict Kanyip instructed all offices of the Court to close at 1 pm on Monday, and for flags to be flown at half-mast throughout the week, paying tribute to the late Jurist who passed away in the early hours of today.
Born in London to Edward Chike Ekpechi and Anthonia Chike Ekpechi, of Onitsha North LGA, Anambra State, Hon. Justice Agbakoba attended Notre Dame High School London from 1974 to 1977 and Girls High School Awkunanaw Enugu from 1977 to 1980, obtaining her West African School Certificate (WASC).
She further pursued her education at the University of Nigeria Nsukka in 1980, ultimately earning an LLB in 1984.
