Abure emphasized that the LP’s participation in the 2023 general election had transformed Nigeria’s political landscape. He reaffirmed the party’s commitment to leadership and the ongoing struggle for a new Nigeria, expressing confidence that the judiciary would uphold justice in the pending judgment.
He appreciated the Lagos State Executive Committee led by Pastor Dayo Ekong for providing leadership and recognized their continued significance within the party’s structure.
Abure called on party leaders and loyalists in the state to unite, put aside grievances, and come together as a cohesive family.
In a brief statement, Obi emphasized that Nigeria’s transition from a consumption-based to a productive nation was the only viable path forward.
Utomi expressed gratitude to the state executives and party members for their unwavering dedication.
Ekong, addressing the newly inaugurated caretaker committees, urged them to view their appointments as opportunities to serve and work diligently for the party’s growth. She reassured them that their sacrifices for the party would not be in vain.
Ekong led the party faithful in observing a minute of silence in honor of members who passed away during the previous general elections, acknowledging the enormity of the challenges the party faces.
It’s worth noting that the crisis within the Labour Party persists, as the faction led by Alhaji Lamidi Apapa inaugurated a 24-member caretaker State Working Committee (SWC) for Lagos State, led by Prince Olumide Adesoyin.
