BREAKING: Government Announce Recruitment For Youths (DETAILS)
Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has announced a plan to enlist 7,000 young individuals to assist security agencies in their efforts to combat the prevailing insecurity challenges.
The state of Kaduna, located in Nigeria’s north-west region, has been grappling with issues such as banditry, kidnapping, and other security-related concerns.
In response, Governor Sani, who has been in office for approximately three months, has revealed his government’s strategy to engage youths in the fight against criminal activities.
Governor Sani, a proponent of state police even during his time as a senator, emphasized that the recruitment initiative will begin shortly. Speaking on Channels Television’s “Politics Today” program, he shared that he has revitalized the Kaduna State Vigilance Service as part of his approach.
He explained that the shortage of personnel within security agencies has prompted the need for additional support from local vigilance services. At present, there are only 2,000 members in the Kaduna State Vigilance Service, and Governor Sani aims to bolster this number by recruiting 7,000 more, reaching a total of 9,000 trained individuals. These recruits will undergo training at the police college to enhance their capabilities.
Governor Sani also highlighted that the state government is collaborating with various stakeholders, including religious institutions, to effectively address criminality within the state. Furthermore, discussions are ongoing with fellow governors from northern states to formulate joint strategies to counteract insecurity.
Governor Sani conveyed his alignment with other governors on this issue, expressing his commitment to a collective effort aimed at fostering a safer environment.
