BREAKING: Minister Of Interior Sacked
On Monday, British leader Rishi Sunak dismissed the controversial interior minister Suella Braverman, according to multiple UK media reports.
This move is part of a broader reshuffling of his top team in preparation for an anticipated general election next year.

Pressure had been mounting on Sunak to remove Braverman, an outspoken right-winger, amid accusations that she heightened tensions during contentious pro-Palestinian demonstrations and counter-protests in Britain.

It remains unclear who will replace Braverman, who assumed the position when Sunak became prime minister just over a year ago.
Following her dismissal, Braverman stated, “It has been the greatest privilege of my life to serve as home secretary.” She added, “I will have more to say in due course.”

This firing coincides with the ruling Conservatives confirming a significant reshuffle of Sunak’s top ministers, marking his first since assuming leadership on October 25, 2022.
The party announced the changes on social media, stating, “Today @RishiSunak strengthens his team in government to deliver long-term decisions for a brighter future. Stay tuned for the latest.”
Anticipated to reward loyalists and younger emerging MPs, this reshuffle comes as the Tories, in power for nearly 14 years, grapple with declining popularity. The party has consistently trailed the main Labour opposition by double-digit margins during Sunak’s tenure and is widely predicted to face challenges in the upcoming election.
Braverman had been a source of controversy throughout her tenure, advocating a hardline stance on immigration and frequently engaging in culture war issues. Her dismissal became increasingly likely after she penned a provocative newspaper article last week, apparently without Sunak’s approval, accusing the police of bias toward left-wing causes. The article was criticized for exacerbating tensions ahead of weekend protests related to Israel’s actions in Gaza and prompted calls for her removal.
