Edu is set to engage with EFCC investigators to provide explanations regarding the alleged transfer of a N585.189 million grant, designated for vulnerable groups in Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Ogun, and Lagos states, into a private account.
This development follows the summons issued by the anti-graft agency on Monday, prompted by a presidential directive from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, instructing her suspension and initiating an investigation.
A reliable source within the EFCC informed Channels Television that the minister’s invitation aligns with President Tinubu’s order for a comprehensive inquiry into her tenure at the ministry.
The source disclosed that an official invitation had been dispatched to the suspended minister, requesting clarification on certain matters within her ministry.
Additionally, it was revealed that the EFCC had previously recommended the immediate suspension of the minister to facilitate an unimpeded investigation into the alleged corruption.
