Burna Boy Responds To Brymo’s Criticism: “They Will Do Anything To Get At The King”
Grammy-winning Nigerian artist, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has spoken out following comments made by his fellow musician, Brymo, who claimed to be a better artist than him….READ ALSO Mr Jollof Reveals Burna Boy Snub 1 Billion-Naira Offer
In a recent interview, Brymo asserted that he surpasses Burna Boy musically, proclaiming himself as the “finest vocalist on the continent” and a superior songwriter.
In what appears to be a response to Brymo’s remarks, Burna Boy took to his Instagram Story, stating, “At this point, they do and say anything to get at the king. Werey dey sing Yoruba proverb music for us. When K1 and Saheed Osupa dem still dey carry us trabaye.”
Meanwhile, Brymo has made another controversial statement, expressing his preference to “go to hell” rather than sign under Davido, Wizkid, or Burna Boy. During a QnA session, Brymo dismissed the idea of signing with the top Nigerian artists, implying that he considers their recording deals unnecessary.
This is not the first time Brymo has courted controversy with his remarks. Despite his past success with hits like “Oleku” and “Ara,” he has often opted for a path less conventional in the Nigerian music industry. Refusing a lucrative offer in 2012, Brymo departed from Chocolate City, citing dissatisfaction with the outcomes of his popular tracks. Instead, he chose artistic autonomy, focusing on creating music with deeper meaning and significance.
