Darlington Nwauju, the spokesperson for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, has stirred the pot with his recent claims regarding Rotimi Amaechi’s absence from President Tinubu’s inauguration. According to Nwauju, Amaechi, the former governor of Rivers State and a prominent figure in Nigerian politics, was not at the event because he had not received an invitation.

In an interview with Seun Okin on the Mic On Podcast, Nwauju revealed his concerns about the inauguration day. He disclosed that he had received information suggesting that Amaechi was omitted from the guest list.

Amaechi, who had previously served as a key member of President Buhari’s administration, was notably absent from the May 29, 2023 inauguration ceremony. Instead, he was seen at the Umuahia Township Stadium in Abia, where he was photographed with other significant figures including Theodore Orji, Enyinnaya Abaribe, Julius Abure, and Datti Baba-Ahmed.

Nwauju’s revelation has raised questions and speculations about the reasons behind Amaechi’s exclusion. He expressed his personal worries, stating, “On the day of the inauguration of Mr. President, I may be wrong but the information I got was that Amaechi was not even invited.”
