Countdown to 2027: APC Unveils Bold Strategy, Launches E-Registration Drive

In preparation for the 2027 general elections, prominent figures within the All Progressives Congress (APC) convened at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja to strategize for the future. The meeting brought together the Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum and Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma; his Kogi State counterpart, Usman Ododo; and the APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda.

During their visit, the governors conducted an inspection of the party’s data center as part of efforts to ensure the smooth rollout of the party’s electronic membership registration exercise. The inspection tour also served as an opportunity to assess progress on plans to erect a permanent structure for the party in Abuja, following the directive of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Speaking with reporters after the tour, Governor Uzodinma expressed satisfaction with the preparations in place, describing the facilities as impressive and reaffirming that the e-registration would soon commence in full. He further praised the national chairman, Professor Yilwatda, as a leader of great energy and intellect, stating his confidence in a productive relationship between the party leadership and the Progressive Governors Forum.

Addressing criticisms from opposition groups, particularly the African Democratic Congress (ADC), which labeled continued APC leadership beyond 2027 as potentially disastrous, Uzodinma dismissed such views, asserting that only two parties exist in Nigeria: “the APC and the rest.”

Professor Yilwatda, for his part, expressed delight at the synergy between the party’s leadership and the governors’ forum, adding that their cooperation would strengthen the APC’s national appeal and position it favorably ahead of the upcoming elections.
