Deontay Wilder Eyes Joshua After Dominant Win Over Chisora

According to Ireporter Online, Deontay Wilder has reignited speculation of a blockbuster heavyweight clash with Anthony Joshua following his victory over Derek Chisora at The O2 Arena on Sunday night.

Joshua was in attendance as Wilder outlasted the experienced Chisora in a hard-fought contest that marked the American’s return to winning form and quelled recent retirement rumors.

Immediately after the fight, Wilder spotted Joshua ringside. The two exchanged a brief, respectful gesture before Wilder directly challenged the British-Nigerian boxer, stating, “Let’s do it.” Joshua maintained eye contact but offered no response, a moment that quickly captured social media attention. Later, the fighters crossed paths again in a corridor, yet both chose to ignore each other in a tense encounter.

The much-anticipated showdown between Wilder and Joshua has repeatedly approached fruition but has yet to be finalized. Joshua’s comeback had been uncertain following the deaths of close friends Sina Ghami and Latif “Latz” Ayodele in a car accident in Nigeria last December. He has now returned to full training, collaborating with the team of former unified champion Oleksandr Usyk as he prepares for his first fight since the tragedy.

Joshua’s most recent bout ended in a knockout victory over Jake Paul, though injuries sustained in the accident delayed his 2026 schedule. He is expected to return to the ring in July, with a potential mega-fight against Tyson Fury also under consideration.

Wilder, however, remains adamant that Joshua is his preferred next opponent. Speaking to talkSPORT, he said, “Put up or shut up, baby. I’m ready and back now. A healed Wilder is a dangerous Wilder. I’ll come anywhere in the world to fight.”
