Dollar To Naira Exchange Rate Today – January 25, 2026
According to Ireporter Online, the exchange rate of the United States dollar to the Nigerian naira at the parallel market, commonly known as the black market or Aboki FX, remained relatively stable on Saturday, January 24, 2025. Information obtained from operators at the Lagos Bureau De Change (BDC) market indicates that the dollar was sold at ₦1,490, while buyers purchased the currency at ₦1,482 per dollar.
Market watchers note that the black market continues to attract attention from traders and individuals seeking foreign exchange, despite repeated warnings from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). The apex bank has consistently maintained that it does not recognize or support transactions conducted through the parallel market and has advised Nigerians who wish to access foreign exchange to do so through licensed commercial banks.
Further checks show that the official CBN exchange rate for the dollar to the naira on the same date ranged between ₦1,420 as the lowest rate and ₦1,423 as the highest rate. Analysts caution that foreign exchange prices may vary slightly depending on location, volume, and market demand, meaning the actual buying or selling rate may differ from figures quoted.
