Tinubu’s Customs Policy Wins Big With NANS Endorsement And Praise

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has publicly lauded the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) for its exceptional achievements in revenue generation, operational reforms, and measures to curb leakages — developments that have significantly bolstered the country’s financial stability.

According to Ireporter Online, the student body also praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for extending the tenure of the Comptroller General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, noting that the NCS has recorded remarkable progress under his leadership.

Speaking during a press briefing in Abuja, NANS Public Relations Officer, Comrade Samson Adeyemi, highlighted that for the first time in Nigeria’s history, the 2025 National Budget is being substantially funded by Customs-generated revenue.

He described this as a historic feat made possible through strategic leadership, operational discipline, and the unwavering dedication of officers and men of the Service.

According to Ireporter Online, NANS specifically commended the reforms in port operations aimed at eliminating leakages, streamlining trade processes, and enhancing professionalism.

The association singled out the Comptroller of the Apapa Area Command, BO Olomu, for transforming the command into a model of excellence in revenue performance and compliance enforcement within just one year in office.

His leadership, marked by transparency and operational efficiency, has elevated the public image of the NCS both nationally and internationally.

Adeyemi further applauded President Tinubu’s decision to extend the tenure of the Comptroller General and his deputies, describing it as a clear demonstration of the Renewed Hope Agenda’s principle of rewarding merit and results.

According to Ireporter Online, NANS has pledged full support for the ongoing reforms, urging Nigerians to rally behind the Customs Service as it continues to block leakages, strengthen compliance, and boost national revenue for socio-economic growth.
