Don’t Distract Tinubu, Shettima – Arewa Group Warns Politicians
The Arewa 19 Pyramid for Grassroots Development has cautioned political actors against diverting the attention of President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima from the pressing task of governance.
Speaking at a news conference in Gombe on Saturday, the group’s convener, Mr. Ahmed Abdulraheem, urged stakeholders to allow the current administration focus on steering the country towards growth and stability without needless political distractions.
Abdulraheem emphasized that the Tinubu/Shettima partnership goes beyond mere politics, describing it as a symbol of inclusion, competence, and a renewed commitment to national development.
“This is not the time for politics. The present leadership still has ample opportunity to fulfill its promises. Political groups or individuals should not derail Tinubu and Shettima from consolidating on the achievements recorded so far,” he said.
He called for unity and urged Nigerians to prioritize national interest over partisan agendas.
“This is a defining moment for Nigeria — a time to shelve distractions and rally behind leaders committed to progress. It is troubling to witness emerging political speculations and divisive narratives aimed at undermining Shettima’s role in government,” he stated.
Abdulraheem warned that any attempt to sow discord within the administration could hamper efforts to deliver good governance, noting that Shettima had earned his position through years of dedicated service to national unity.
“Trying to diminish his contributions is not just an insult to the North, but a disservice to the entire country,” he added.
He also urged the All Progressives Congress (APC) to maintain internal cohesion and work collectively to advance the nation’s interests.
“Arewa 19 Pyramid stands firmly with the Tinubu/Shettima administration and remains committed to promoting unity, youth empowerment, civic engagement, and inclusive development across northern Nigeria and beyond,” Abdulraheem affirmed.
