Edo: APC Youths Storm Saliu Mustapha’s Office Renew Call For Transparent National Convention, Kick Against Imposition

About 50 youths this afternoon stormed the campaign outreach office of APC frontline national chairmanship aspirant, Mallam Saliu Mustapha in Benin City. The office is located at 35 Edebiri Street off Ekenwan Rd.

Expressing their anger on a purported endorsement of a particular aspirant the youths as led by Comrade Osaretin Asemota said the APC must be seen to be just in its dealings as Nigerians are now wiser.

Renewing the call for a transparent national congress, the youths harped on the need for the APC to lead by example by offering Nigerians its best hands to lead the party which is responsible for over seventy per cent of their standard of living.

“We must be fair to ourselves and tell ourselves the truth, the APC as a party should be seen to be leading by example, as we move towards the general elections it behoves on the party to bring only competent leaders that would in turn source credible hands to lead us out of our current circumstances.

We are here to express our anger against any power bloc that is hell-bent on stampeding our progress as a Nation by imposing unpopular candidates in our political parties. Already we have seen the furore the purported endorsement of a particular candidate is causing in the polity, this shows it is not only an undesirable idea but also draconian in nature .”

Responding to the agitated youths a representative of the campaign outreach, Mr Bobby Idahosa debunked the purported endorsement saying it was mere Media Propaganda to just weaken other aspirants in the race.

According to him if a consensus candidate would be agreed upon at it would be a collective decision by all the aspirants and party stakeholders.

Assuring them to disregard the Fake News, Idahosa called on the youths to keep faith with the DOING IT DIFFERENTLY ideology of Mallam Saliu Mustapha reiterating the fact that his aspiration was for the common good of the youths and Nigerians at large.

Last week there was a piece of mischievous news about the President endorsing 76-year-old Abdullahi as the next APC national chairman.

The presidency has since debunked the rumour saying it was the handiwork of mischief-makers.
