#EndBadGovernance Protest: Youths Stage Peaceful Rally In Kebbi To Back Tinubu, Idris Against Protests

A coalition of youth groups in Kebbi has chosen to exempt themselves from the #EndBadGovernance protests set to begin on August 1. More than 100 youth associations gathered at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi on Sunday to show their support for President Bola Tinubu and Governor Nasir Idris.

The youths expressed their loyalty to both the state and federal administrations. Muhammad Adamu-Kichinga, leader of the groups, emphasized their belief that the nation’s challenges are surmountable with time and prayer for their leaders.

“Our amenable Governor Idris has achieved records of success in the transformation of Kebbi in all sectors of human endeavour. We must support him to take us to the promised land. We are here to reaffirm our loyalty and cooperation to your administration and forward the same to Mr President, and we remain supportive of your government,” Adamu-Kichinga said.

In response, Governor Nasir Idris pledged to continue developing youth and women empowerment programs to ensure self-reliance and employment. He expressed gratitude for the youths’ solidarity and understanding, labeling the scheduled protest as unnecessary.

“We are happy that youths in Kebbi exempted yourselves from this misadventure. No development is possible without peace. We shall make everything humanly possible to address the challenges facing the populace,” Idris stated. “What is on the ground in Kebbi is a testimony of the giant strides achieved by the incumbent government to transform the state for a better life.”

Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Atiku Bagudu, reinforced the message that governance is a continuous process and praised Tinubu’s efforts to improve the living conditions of Nigerians. He urged the youths to maintain peace and avoid being used by detractors to create discord.

“Your solidarity reinforces confidence in leaders. Governor Idris in Kebbi has been the shining light of development. He has performed remarkably well. Kebbi is a state of peace. You must sustain the tempo,” said Bagudu. “Do not allow detractors, local and foreign, to use you to create discord in the country. No problem is without solution, Nigeria will prosper.”

Bagudu further appreciated the youths for recognizing the planned protest as ill-conceived and urged them to avoid the path of infamy.
