The Lagos State Government has taken strict action against several high-profile establishments, including churches, hotels, and entertainment venues, for breaching noise pollution regulations and other environmental standards. Locations affected by the closures span across Shomolu, Oniru Victoria Island, Jakande-Lekki, Badore Ajah, Lekki-Epe Expressway, Sangotedo, Lekki II, Ogombo, and Lekki Phase 1, among others.

Among the businesses sealed were Celestial Church, Zodiac Lounge, Pixel Park Studio, The Lord’s Chosen Church, Sneakers Suites & Bar, Wimpy Hotel, SBL Hotels, Handsworth Hotel, Mountain of Fire and Miracles Church, West Syde Exclusive Hotel & Suites, and Kobis Restaurant.

According to a statement from LASEPA, these businesses were found to be major contributors to excessive noise and other environmental disturbances. Dr. Tunde Ajayi, the General Manager of LASEPA, emphasized that noise pollution and other environmental infractions disrupt the tranquility and well-being of Lagos residents. He further underscored the agency’s commitment to maintaining a clean and healthy environment, stating, “This action reflects our zero-tolerance stance on environmental violations.”

Ajayi reiterated the importance of adhering to regulations and pledged LASEPA’s unwavering dedication to enforcing laws that foster a more sustainable and livable Lagos.
