Father’s Fury Ends In Tragedy: 19-Year-Old Dies After Brutal Beating In LagosLagos, July 18, 2024 – In a disturbing turn of events, a 19-year-old boy has tragically lost his life after allegedly being beaten by his own father in Lagos. The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident on Thursday, revealing that the crime was reported to the Alagbado Police Division earlier this week.
According to SP Hundeyin, the suspect, identified as Olumide, inflicted a severe injury on his son, Adeyemi, using a shovel during the altercation, reportedly over an undisclosed issue. The young man was promptly rushed to a local hospital for immediate medical attention. However, due to the severity of his injuries, he was later transferred to General Hospital Ikeja for further treatment. Tragically, he succumbed to a tetanus infection related to the injury, as confirmed by attending medical staff.
Detectives from the Alagbado Police Division swiftly visited the scene upon receiving the report, and the case is currently under active investigation to ascertain the full circumstances surrounding this heartbreaking incident.
The community and authorities alike are grappling with the devastating loss, highlighting the urgent need for measures to prevent such domestic tragedies from occurring in the future.
