According to Ireporter Online, pupils from various schools across Abuja displayed remarkable brilliance at the annual spelling bee competition organised by My Hero Community Development Initiative (MHCDI) in Maitama. The event brought together over 200 participants from nine secondary schools, including JSS Garki Area 10, JSS Wuse Zone 3, JSS Kado Kuchi, JSS Gwarinpa, JSS Garki II, and JSS Jabi, making it one of the most vibrant educational gatherings in the Federal Capital Territory this year.

The competition served not only as a test of spelling ability but also as a platform for pupils to showcase confidence, mental sharpness, and eloquence before a cheering audience at Merit House. Among the winners were Oluwasina Eunice from JSS Garki Area 10, who emerged as the first runner-up; Agwara David from JSS Wuse Zone 3, who came second; and Omojola Zion Akorede from JSS Kado Kuchi, who clinched third place.

Organisers of the event, Damilola Fabolu and Chris Olusa, emphasized the significance of nurturing literacy and building self-confidence among young Nigerians. They explained that competitions of this nature transcend spelling exercises, as they instill vital life skills such as perseverance, discipline, and effective public speaking.
