Gombe Governor’s Bold Move: Essential Food Items Distributed to Ease Economic Strain
Decisive effort to alleviate the economic hardships plaguing residents of Gombe State, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, has approved a significant distribution of essential food items. This initiative aims to support the most vulnerable individuals across the state.
The governor’s decision follows resolutions made at an Expanded Security Council Meeting held yesterday. Under this new plan, 1,000 bags each of 50 kg sorghum and 25 kg rice, along with 1,000 cartons of spaghetti pasta, will be distributed to beneficiaries in all 11 local government areas of Gombe State.
Additionally, the program will extend to 5,000 bags and cartons of the same food items to various groups, including faith-based organizations, civil society groups, unions, student unions (GOSSA and NANS), tsangaya and almajiri schools, as well as youth and women groups, and individuals with disabilities.
This distribution marks the 19th instance of the state government providing such support, continuing its commitment to relieve economic strain and ensure the well-being of Gombe’s residents. The governor’s proactive approach underscores his dedication to supporting citizens and promoting social stability during these challenging times.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s ongoing efforts reflect a strong commitment to addressing economic difficulties and supporting the most vulnerable members of society.
