Gov Otti Condemns Attack On Nigerian Army, Offers Condolences After Soldier Killed In Aba

In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Kazie Uko, on Saturday, Governor Otti addressed the incident, which occurred on Friday evening. The statement included confirmation from Mr. Chukwunenye Alajemba, the Senior Special Assistant on Security to the Governor, that one soldier had died and another was receiving treatment for injuries sustained in the attack.
Governor Otti praised the Army personnel for their restraint during the unprovoked assault and specifically thanked Brig. Gen. O.O. Diya, Commander of the 14 Brigade Nigerian Army Ohafia, for his prompt response and efforts to maintain peace in Aba. He urged the public to remain calm and continue with their daily activities without fear.
