Gov Radda To Buhari’s Son: Why I Can Never Betray Your Family
According to IReporter Online, the Governor of Katsina State, Umaru Dikko Radda, has declared that he would never betray the family of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari.
Governor Radda made the statement while receiving a delegation of All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders from the Daura, Mai’adua, and Sandamu Federal Constituencies. The group visited him to formally present Yusuf Buhari, son of the late president, as an aspirant from the constituency.
The governor emphasized that his relationship with the Buhari family remains deeply rooted in loyalty and gratitude, noting that he had been a beneficiary of Muhammadu Buhari’s goodwill since 2015. He described it as impossible for him to act against the family’s interests.
“I can never betray Buhari’s family. I have been a beneficiary of his good reputation since the days of the CPC to date. Buhari is late now. May his soul rest in peace. Therefore, I wish Yusuf well and all the best in your political pursuit,” Radda was quoted as saying.
He further stressed that within a democratic system, the APC cannot shut out aspirants simply because another individual is in the race. He pointed out that Muhammadu Buhari himself contested alongside several others before eventually emerging victorious, adding that political competition should remain open to all qualified candidates.
Governor Radda also advised Yusuf Buhari to focus on building his own identity in politics as he begins his political journey.
In his remarks, Yusuf Buhari expressed appreciation to the constituency stakeholders for their support, assuring them that he would not disappoint their confidence. He pledged to justify their trust by meeting their expectations if given the opportunity to serve.
