The harrowing attack unfolded around 2 am on Monday, leaving the community reeling from the devastation inflicted by the assailants. Eyewitness Ibrahim Shuaibu recounted the horrific ordeal, describing how the gunmen set houses ablaze and unleashed a hail of bullets on fleeing residents.

Prior to targeting the villagers, the gunmen callously assaulted a police outpost, claiming the lives of two officers, before descending on the hapless civilians.

While the details of civilian casualties are yet to be fully ascertained, Toto LGA Chairman Abdullahi Aliyu Tashas acknowledged the tragic event, expressing his shock and dismay.

Meanwhile, the Nasarawa State Police Command, led by spokesperson Ramhan Nansel, is yet to provide an official statement on the incident, leaving many questions unanswered.

In a separate but related development, authorities in Katsina State have achieved a significant victory against banditry, with a joint police-military operation successfully thwarting an attack and rescuing ten individuals abducted along the Kukar Babangida and Yan Gayya Feeder Road.
