The 45-year-old athlete had been married to Toukam Fotso Laure Verline for over a decade before the revelation surfaced.

According to reports from The Sun, the couple’s twins were born from a previous relationship of Geremi’s wife, Laure.

Court documents from Cameroon, Geremi’s native country, indicate that Laure’s actions and repeated dishonesty have led to the breakdown of their marriage.

Laure initially claimed that the twins, born in June 2008, were Geremi’s, which prompted their marriage. However, upon discovering the truth, their marital harmony was shattered.

The documents further detail verbal abuse directed at Geremi by his spouse, including insults and derogatory language in the presence of their children.

Known for his versatility on the field, Geremi Njitap played for prominent clubs like Real Madrid, Chelsea, and Newcastle United, among others, before retiring in January 2011. He earned 118 caps for Cameroon from 1996 to 2010 and was part of their successful squads in several international tournaments, including the Africa Cup of Nations and the FIFA World Cup.
