Igboho Dares Atiku, Obi: ‘Campaign In Yoruba Land If You’re Crazy
According to Ireporter Online, Yoruba Nation activist, Sunday Igboho, has issued a stern warning to former presidential candidates Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, urging them not to campaign in the South-West ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
In a video circulated on Sunday, Igboho stated that he would not permit political supporters to promote either politician across the Yoruba region. He emphasized that anyone intending to campaign for Atiku or Obi in the South-West should stay away, as such efforts would not be welcomed.
The activist reaffirmed his support for President Bola Tinubu, declaring, “No more Atiku or Obi in Yorubaland. Campaigning here for them is madness. It’s Tinubu for second term and beyond 2027. Throughout Lagos and Yorubaland, we will all vote for him.”
Igboho stressed that residents of Lagos and other parts of Yorubaland would continue to back Tinubu politically and ensure his strong mandate in future elections.
His remarks come just weeks after his return to Nigeria on January 26, 2026, following the federal government’s decision to remove him from the list of wanted persons. Igboho had left Nigeria in July 2021 after security operatives, including the Department of State Services and the Nigerian Army, raided his Ibadan residence over allegations of illegal arms possession. At the time, he had been actively opposing armed herders involved in attacks on farmers and kidnappings across the South-West.
Several traditional rulers, including the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Rashidi Ladoja; the Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Ogunwusi; and the Olugbon of Orile Igbon, Francis Alao, had appealed for his return. Following the raid, his Nigerian passport was revoked, his bank accounts frozen, and he was declared wanted during former President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration despite favorable court rulings.
