Ize-Iyamu Slams Obaseki’s Eight-Year Administration As “Bad Governance And Deceit”Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, former Secretary to the Edo State Government and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has criticized the outgoing administration of Governor Godwin Obaseki, describing it as eight years of bad governance, deceit, and lies.

Speaking with reporters on the heels of the APC ward to ward campaign across the Local Government Areas in Edo North Senatorial district, Ize-Iyamu expressed disappointment over the state’s underdevelopment despite receiving substantial funds.

“We have witnessed eight years of very bad governance, eight years of deceit, and eight years of lies in Edo State. Considering the huge amount that has come into the state, the so-called development is shameful,” Ize-Iyamu said.

He further claimed that many of the state’s projects remain incomplete, with contractors abandoning sites due to lack of payment.

Looking ahead to the forthcoming governorship election, Ize-Iyamu voiced optimism that Senator Monday Okpebholo, the APC candidate, would bring the much-needed change if elected.

He promised that Okpebholo’s administration would revitalize local government councils, making them more viable and accountable.

“Their funds will be domiciled in their local government areas, and those in charge will be held accountable. We will demand transparency from the Federal Government by pushing for the publication of allocations to local governments, just as it was done when Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala was Minister,” he added.
