JUST IN: Again, PDP Loses Two Lawmakers To APC

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has again lost two members of its party to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

The two defectors are from the Anambra state house of Assembly.

The defection was announced during plenary on Wednesday, October 6. The lawmakers are Douglas Egbuna who represent Onitsha North 1 Constituency and Offor Onyebuchi of Ekwusigo.

As regards reasons for defection, Offor who was the minority leader in the house, said his decision was geared by the desire to have his constituents feel and experience the presence of the ruling party While Egbuna on his part explained that he dumped PDP for APC after several consultations.

Both Egbuna and Offor were received by the Speaker of the House, Mr Uche Okafor.

Okafor congratulated the lawmakers, wishing them well in their new party.

With this development, records showed the APC now has six members, leaving PDP with four members, while APGA has 20 members in the Assembly.
