Just In: Atiku Abubakar Hosts Peter Obi, Stirring Political Speculations (Details)
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar announced the visit of Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), via his official social media handle on Monday afternoon.
In a post shared alongside photos, Atiku expressed it was an “honour and privilege” to host Peter Obi.
Peter Obi, the former Governor of Anambra State, reportedly visited his former principal at his Abuja residence on Monday morning. The purpose of the meeting has not been disclosed yet.
Obi, who was previously in the PDP, had left the party for LP before the last general elections. Both Atiku and Obi were the PDP’s presidential and vice-presidential candidates in the 2019 elections.
However, they went their separate ways in the 2023 election due to political interests.
Their recent reunion has sparked speculation on social media, with many netizens suggesting that the duo might be planning to form an opposition ahead of the 2027 election.
