Just In: Kaduna-State Government Denounces False-Reports Of Shooting And Kidnapping On Kaduna-Abuja Road (View Details)

The Kaduna State Government has swiftly moved to quash rumors circulating primarily on WhatsApp groups regarding alleged shooting and kidnapping incidents along the Bishini corridor of the Kaduna-Abuja Road.

In a firm rebuttal, Samuel Aruwan, the Overseeing Commissioner for the Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Kaduna State, issued a statement on Thursday, June 13, 2024, dismissing the reports as baseless. According to the statement, thorough checks conducted by traditional rulers, community leaders, and security forces in Katari and Bishini areas have not corroborated any such incidents.

“Physical tours and diligent inquiries from credible human intelligence sources have also failed to confirm the alleged incident,” the statement emphasized.

The Kaduna State Government emphasized its commitment to transparency and proactive communication regarding security challenges. It condemned the reckless spread of false information, noting that such actions undermine efforts to maintain peace and security in the state.

“The security forces remain vigilant along the Kaduna-Abuja Road and surrounding areas, continuously working to ensure the safety of citizens,” the statement assured.

Furthermore, the government reiterated its readiness to engage with communities and support initiatives aimed at fostering peace and security across the state.

As the state authorities continue to monitor the situation closely, they urge residents to rely on verified information and refrain from circulating unconfirmed reports that could cause undue alarm and anxiety.
