In response to the shocking news, the Labour Party’s National Chairman, Barrister Julius Abure, said in a statement that the postponement is necessary so that the party can hold new primaries and participate in the election.

According to Abure, Enugu state is one of the states where the party has the most support, and the LP candidate is on track to win the Enugu East senatorial seat in this election.

He urged INEC not to allow people to benefit or win elections through other means, particularly by silencing a popular candidate.
