Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s administration in Kano State has suspended Mustapha Indabawa, the Managing Director (MD) of Abubakar Rimi Television. The government has appointed Hajiya Hauwa Ibrahim as the acting Managing Director of the television station.
According to Ireporteronline, the official letter of appointment for Ibrahim, dated May 27, 2024, was signed by Abdullahi Baffa Bichi, the Secretary to the State Government. The letter directs Ibrahim to assume her new role immediately. Prior to this appointment, Ibrahim served as the deputy managing director of the television station.
The Kano State Government has filed seven charges, including criminal conspiracy, misappropriation, and diversion of funds, against the suspended MD and Staff Officer Ibrahim M. Bello. These charges followed an investigation by the state anti-corruption commission, initiated after a petition was submitted to the state governor regarding the embattled MD.
