Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda explained that this initiative aims to alleviate the burden of inmates in the state’s correctional facilities during the holy month of Ramadan and the upcoming Sallah festivities.

Fadila Muhammad Dikko, the state’s Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, revealed this development in a statement, emphasizing that the selection of beneficiaries followed a meticulous verification process and recommendations to the state government for intervention.

“The Governor’s compassionate act is poised to alleviate congestion in these facilities and allow the released inmates to join their loved ones in celebrating the joyous occasion of Sallah,” Fadila stated.

Expressing gratitude to Governor Radda for his benevolence, the Attorney-General disclosed that the beneficiaries were primarily inmates detained for minor commercial and non-capital offenses.
