This decision comes despite the Federal Government’s extension of the Eid-El-Fitr public holidays to Thursday, April 11. Initially, only Tuesday and Wednesday were declared public holidays for the celebration, with Thursday later added to the break due to the confirmation that Eid-el-Fitr would occur on Wednesday.

In a statement issued by the Katsina State Commissioner of Information and Culture, Bala Zango, on Tuesday, the governor extended his well wishes for a joyous and peaceful Sallah celebration to the people of the state. He also emphasized the importance of prioritizing security and praying for peace to prevail in the state and the entire nation during the festivities.

The statement highlighted Governor Radda’s decision to declare Friday as a work-free day, aligning with the Federal Government’s gesture and aiming to enable workers in the state to fully enjoy the Eid-El-Fitr celebration with their families.

The Governor urged citizens to remain security conscious and offered prayers for peace to reign in Katsina State and the nation as a whole during this year’s Eid-El-Fitr festivities.
