Ganduje, Wife, And Others Set To Face Corruption Charges On April 17

The Kano High Court has scheduled April 17, 2024, as the date for the arraignment of Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the former Governor of Kano State, along with his wife and six others. Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano had previously pledged to investigate Ganduje, citing embarrassment to the people of Kano during his tenure.

The respondents named in the criminal suit include Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, Hafsat Umar, Abubakar Bawuro, Umar Abdullahi Umar, Jibrilla Muhammad, Lamash Properties Ltd, Safari Textiles Ltd, and Lesage General Enterprises.

The Kano State Government has prepared 15 witnesses to testify in court.

The case is set to be heard before Justice Usman Na’aba of the State High Court on the specified date.

Confirming the development, the State Attorney General, Haruna Isah Dederi, stated that the case has been filed, and all parties involved will be duly served. He emphasized that evasion of accountability is not feasible, as justice will inevitably prevail.
