Katsina Governor-Calls For Sanctions Against APC Members Involved In Anti-Party Activities (Details)

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has urged for disciplinary action against All Progressives Congress (APC) members found guilty of anti-party activities during the rerun election for Faskari-Sabuwa-Kankara federal constituency.

Governor Radda issued this directive after receiving the report from the committee tasked with investigating the alleged anti-party activities. The report was submitted to him through the state party chairman, Alhaji Sani Aliyu Daura.

In his address, Governor Radda stressed the importance of unity within the party and called for the establishment of a “strong committee” to lead extensive reconciliation efforts in the local governments where internal factions exist.

The Investigative Committee Chairman, former Deputy Governor Alhaji Tukur Ahmed Jikamshi, presented a five-point recommendation report. He emphasized that the committee strictly adhered to the party’s constitution, the national constitution, and the designated terms of reference while fulfilling their responsibilities.

According to Jikamshi, the report revealed instances of sabotage within the party during the rerun election, particularly within Kankara and Faskari, which negatively impacted the APC’s performance. He also attributed internal divisions in the area to “selfish party leaders.”

Emphasizing the importance of unity, Jikamshi urged the adoption of the committee’s proposals, which included the establishment of a dedicated reconciliation committee, to further strengthen the APC in Katsina.
