In reflecting on his time in office, Buhari acknowledged the significant obstacles his administration encountered despite their attempts to tackle the nation’s issues. He expressed, “Those who are not in positions of power often do not grasp the complexities and challenges that Nigeria faces.”

Significant Improvement in Health Post-Presidency

Buhari, who transferred power to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in May 2023, noted that his health has improved considerably since leaving office. “My health has gotten better since stepping down. Visitors have commented that I look better than I did before,” he stated.

Regarding governance, Buhari urged political leaders to maintain their accountability to both Allah and the populace, stressing the importance of transparency in managing public resources. He remarked, “Leaders must remember their accountability to Allah and the people. Transparency in managing public funds is crucial.”

The meeting, convened before the local government elections, attracted key political figures from Katsina State, including former Governors Aminu Bello Masari and Ibrahim Shehu Shema, current Governor Dikko Umar Radda, and several past and present members of the National Assembly, along with APC party leaders.
