List Of Ministerial Nominees Screened Yesterday By Senate

On Monday, the Senate began the evaluation process for the initial group of 28 ministerial nominees submitted by President Bola Tinubu. During a plenary session that commenced at approximately 12:41 pm upon the arrival of Senate President Godswill Akpabio, 14 nominees were interviewed.

Among the nominees screened were Nyesom Wike, the former governor of Rivers State; Abubakar Kyari from Borno State; Nkiruka Onyejeocha from Abia State; Bello Muhammad from Sokoto State; Sani Abubakar Danladi from Taraba State; and Badaru Abubakar from Jigawa State.

The other nominees screened include Joseph Utsev from Benue State; Olubunmi Tunji Ojo from Ondo State; Betta Edu from Cross River State; Uju Kennedy Ohaneye from Anambra State; Abubakar Momoh from Edo State; John Enoh from Cross River State; Iman Suleiman Ibrahim from Nasarawa State; and Yusuf Maitama Tuggar from Bauchi State.

Former senators among the nominees were given special consideration and allowed to take a bow and leave, while the other nominees underwent thorough scrutiny by the senators.

Following the screening process, Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele moved a motion for the Senate to return to plenary and report on the progress made. The motion was seconded by Senate Minority Leader, Darlington Nwokocha, and was carried.

Subsequently, the Senate President adjourned the plenary session until Tuesday.
