Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has expressed deep sorrow over the devastating loss of 35 children in a preventable stampede at a private funfair in Ibadan. The tragedy, which has sent shockwaves across the nation, calls for urgent action to ensure the safety and well-being of citizens at public events.

In a heartfelt statement, Governor Makinde lamented the future that was lost with these young lives. “Every child had dreams—dreams of becoming leaders, innovators, and changemakers,” he said. “It is heart-wrenching to see those dreams end so suddenly.”
